THE WINES

 

2013 Tendal Tradition Blanco: From organically farmed 60-80 year old Albillo, with a bit of Listan Blanco, vines, planted pie franco on sandy volcanic soils at 1,200-1,550 meters elevation in the zones of Tijarafe and Puntagorda, on the north side of La Palma. Fermented with wild yeasts in steel vat and raised for a short time on the lees in vat (no oak), Tendal Blanco Tradicional is vivid and aromatic with notes of evergreen, stone fruits, and smoky minerals; a naturally-made and refreshing vino blanco a distinctive flor like aroma is present.

 

 

2013 Tendal Tradition Rouge: From organically farmed 60 – 80 year old Listan Preto and Negramoll vines, planted pie franco on sandy volcanic soils at 1,200-1,550 meters elevation in the zones of Tijarafe and Puntagorda, on the north side of La Palma. The Listan Preto grapes are fermented in whole clusters and the Negramoll are all destemmed. With no SO2 added during elevage the wines are raised for up to a year in cement vats and bottled unfiltered. Lifted and fragrant with light red fruits and savory elements as well as some oxidative elements. One of the only light bodied reds to come out of Spain which does not rely on Carbonic maceration for fragrance.
